Distress To De-Stress: Handling Examination Stress
Maintaining a calm and focused mindset during exams is crucial for students to manage stress effectively. To support this, the ‘Distress to De-Stress: Handling Exam Stress Module’ is conducted annually for Middle Wing students (Grades VI to VIII) under the aegis of Adept – A Program for Enhancing Life Skills, powered by wellnesswise.in. This module, developed under the guidance of Dr. Alka Saxena, Deputy Director (Health & Wellness), BBGS, equips students with practical tools to navigate exam pressure.
In February 2025, Life Skills facilitators expanded this initiative to reach more students, further promoting emotional well-being during exams. The session addressed stress indicators, procrastination, and exam-related concerns, with a strong focus on time management and SMART timetables. The students learned productivity strategies and engaged in concentration exercises, relaxation techniques, and guided imagery. Additionally, tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle including diet, exercise, and sleep were shared.
The participants felt heard and supported, gaining confidence in managing exam stress. They were also encouraged to seek guidance from Counsellors and Life Skills Facilitators for further support.
